Higher version, slower application :(

I love this application and Ive been using it for years. However, in every new release, application got bigger eventually slower. Im still using my iPhone 4S and the last version of the application starts in almost two minutes. Are the app developers aware of this? Im afraid in the next releases the application would be hardly running and Id be unwillingly move to other lighter applications :(
Secondly, the main menu items in white font are hardly seen on a light grey background. Can you at least make it darker so can be easily readable...
