I was rooting for you!
As an avid Adidas Shoe wearer, I decided to leave NikePlus after running almost 1,000 miles for Adidas miCoach. There have been positives as well as negatives to this change. Lets start with the good side:
PROS:
- The training programs for the miCoach are better than NikePlus. Theyre more race specific and helpful
- the miCoach pace zones with voice prompts that keep you on task are not offered through NikePlus at this time. This type of on the fly information without checking a watch/app is very cool
- The customization of voice commands is more flexible than NikePlus
- While NikePlus used to inadvertently pause during runs, miCoach seamlessly tracks runs from beginning to the end.....sorta(see CONS)
CONS:
- Pausing and stopping the miCoach app is extremely difficult on the fly. Ive spent minutes fiddling with the program trying to simply end the workout while the clock still ticks. This, for me, is a deal breaker because it affects stats. Once I even had to exit out of the program in order for it to shut off.
- There is no community of runners. MiCoach is simply a good tracking tool. No interaction, challenges, or comparison to other runners. Youll need some Google skills to do that.
All-in-all, I was hopeful that I would be able to stick with the Adidas miCoach, but until a few issues are resolved Ill continue to roam. Somebody email me when that "slide to end workout" issue is fixed. Nothing Like finishing an 11 mile run and having your accomplishment celebration delayed for a few minutes to figure out how to stop the clock. :/
